Rumors of death / killing / grave illness of various war actors from all sides of the frontlines are appearing regularly. Memes play the rumors up, anticipating the death and exposing the propaganda efforts to deny it. In the fall of 2023 a popular rumor claimed that Putin had died on October 29, 2023 and his body is being kept in a refrigerator until further notice. Similar rumors about Aleksandr Lukashenko circulated in May 2023 after he appeared sick during his visit to Moscow for the Victory Day celebrations.
