Memes invoking Dmitry Medvedev, Putin ally, politician, and former president of Russia, either drunk or behaving in an infantile manner or looking ridiculous are designed to discredit his rhetoric, which is sometimes also invoked in the images. Accusations about Medvedev’s drunkenness can be traced to the 2009 G–8 Summit, in which the then-president appeared intoxicated in photos and videos from the conference (video at second link below).
