SUCHO Meme Wall "Smoking" causing explosion (according to Russian propaganda)
In an attempt to deny the success of Ukrainian attacks on Russian military targets, Russian propaganda has offered the explanation that explosions are caused by cigarette smoking leading to fires. Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov has made jokes about the absurdity of these explanations in reference to an explosion at an ammunition depot in Russian-occupied Crimea (article linked below). Memes about this line of propaganda tend to invoke images of people, such as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, smoking either near explosions or as foreshadowing for a coming explosion. In some memes, cigarettes replace military equipment, implying that these weapons will cause more explosions in Russian-occupied territories.
