“We do not abandon our own”

One of the slogans of the Russian state in its war against Ukraine is "We do not abandon our own" ("Своих не бросаем"). Reports from the war, in contrast, confirm that Russian soldiers often leave the bodies of their fellow combatants on the battlefield. Memes invoking this language will either connect the phrase to the widespread Russian casualties during the war, or otherwise underscore the phrase's counterfactual nature.
