Ekaterina Andreeva is a Russian state-sponsored journalist and the anchor of Vremya and Novosti on Russian state-run channel Channel One (Pervyi kanal) (link to her Wikipedia page below). As a state-sponsored reporter, Andreeva often espouses the Kremlin’s official talking points and disseminates the state’s propaganda. Memes including Andreeva will often include her at her signature desk with someone in the background holding a sign, a reference to an event on March 14, 2022, in which Andreeva’s colleague, Marina Ovsyannikova held up a sign behind the anchor with a message denouncing Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
