Latynina (Yulia)

Yulia Latynina (born 1966) is a Russian journalist, writer, and political commentator. Latynina has been a vocal critic of the Russian government and Vladimir Putin. Due to her outspoken views and critical reporting, Latynina has faced significant threats and harassment. In 2017, she was forced to flee Russia temporarily after a series of attacks on her home and threats to her safety, including an arson attack on her car. In 2022, Russia included Latynina in the register of “individuals - foreign agents” due to allegedly “conducting political activities and receiving funding from Ukraine.”Some of Latynina's views are controversial; she considers herself a libertarian, denied the existence of global warming and opposed government intervention during the coronavirus epidemic.
