Lenin (Vladimir)
Vladimir Lenin (1870-1924) was the founder and first leader of the Soviet Union (link to his Wikipedia page below). His body is displayed in a mausoleum in Red Square, directly next to the Kremlin. Russian state propaganda has espoused the debunked talking point that Lenin is responsible for the creation of modern-day Ukraine. Memes about Lenin will sometimes highlight this rhetoric, as well as refer to his burial place in connection with Ukrainian attacks, both past and predicted, on Moscow. Memes often imitate Lenin’s rhotacism (difficulty pronouncing the /r/ sound), rendering his “r”s as “g”s.
