SUCHO Meme Wall Girkin (Strelkov)
Igor Girkin (also known by the alias Igor Stelkov) is a Russian veteran who played a role in Russia's seizure of Crimea and its war in the Donbas (link to his Wikipedia page below). He has called for a full mobilization in Russia in order to achieve victory in the war. Memes involving him often show him without his signature mustache, which he reportedly shaved in order to avoid recognition on the frontlines. He is often shown with a feminized appearance or in embarrassing situations. He is also often presented alongside other supporters of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After Girkin was sentenced to four years in prison for “inciting extremist activity” on January 25, 2024, memes are mocking his imminent hardship, which would be less if he found himself in the Hague rather than in the Russian prison. (Girkin was given life sentence in absentia by a Dutch court in 2022 for shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine in 2014, killing 298 passengers and crew).
